PHP and Laravel Development for Robust Web Applications
PHP still powers a huge part of the web, and Laravel is its most productive modern framework. Growth Dash builds secure, maintainable Laravel applications, APIs and portals that are ready to scale.
Why PHP and Laravel are a practical choice
PHP runs a very large share of websites and applications, including WordPress, and is supported by almost every hosting provider. Modern PHP, from version 8 onward, is fast, typed and well designed. Laravel builds on it with an elegant structure, a rich ecosystem and strong conventions, which means applications are built faster, are easier for new developers to understand and are straightforward to test and secure. For many business applications, such as portals, SaaS products, marketplaces, CRMs and APIs, Laravel offers an excellent balance of speed to market, quality and cost.
What we build with Laravel
- SaaS products and multi-tenant platforms with subscriptions, billing, roles and team management.
- Customer and vendor portals with dashboards, file handling, notifications and approvals.
- REST and GraphQL APIs for web and mobile apps. See API development and mobile apps.
- Ecommerce and marketplace backends with custom pricing, inventory and order logic.
- Admin panels and internal systems for operations, HR, finance and logistics.
- Booking, learning and membership platforms with payments and content access control.
- Legacy PHP modernisation: upgrading old PHP applications to current versions and frameworks with tests and a safe migration path.
Our Laravel engineering practices
Clean, testable architecture
We structure code with clear domains, service classes, repositories where useful and thin controllers, and write automated tests with PHPUnit or Pest. Continuous integration runs tests on every change, so regressions are caught early.
Database design and performance
We design normalised schemas, use migrations for repeatable changes, add indexes where queries need them, avoid common N+1 query traps and use caching with Redis. Heavy work moves to queues and scheduled jobs so users never wait for it.
Security
Laravel ships with strong defaults, including protection against SQL injection, cross-site scripting and CSRF, hashed passwords and encryption helpers. We add role and permission management, rate limiting, secure file handling, audit logging, two-factor authentication where appropriate and regular dependency updates.
Frontend options
We pair Laravel with Blade, Livewire, Inertia, Vue or React depending on the experience you need, or run it as a headless API behind a separate front end. For content-heavy sites that need strong SEO, we use server-side rendering and clean metadata. See headless development.
DevOps and deployment
We set up staging and production environments, automated deployments, backups, logging and monitoring on cloud providers or managed hosting, using containers where it helps. Zero-downtime releases and rollbacks reduce risk.
Upgrading and rescuing existing PHP applications
If you have an older PHP application that is slow, insecure or hard to change, we begin with a code and security audit, document the risks and recommend a path: patch, refactor in stages or rebuild. Staged modernisation lets you keep the business running while improving the foundation. We also take over projects started by other teams and bring them to a stable, documented state.

PHP, Laravel or something else?
We are not tied to one technology. For content websites we often recommend WordPress; for complex apps Laravel, Node.js or other stacks may fit better. Our recommendation depends on your team, hosting, timeline and long-term plans, as described in our custom web development overview.
